About PPF Extension Calculator - After Maturity
PPF account can be extended in blocks of 5 years after the initial 15-year maturity. You must apply within 1 year of maturity to extend with contributions, otherwise only without-contribution extension is available.
Extension with contributions: You can deposit Rs 500 to Rs 1.5 lakh per year and get Section 80C benefit. One withdrawal per year up to 60% of balance at extension start is allowed.
Extension without contributions: No new deposits, but balance continues to earn interest. You can withdraw any amount once per year. This is useful to let the corpus grow tax-free.
